NHAI Launches Rajasthan’s First Barrier-Free Toll System
In a major step toward modernizing highway travel, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched Rajasthan’s first Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system at Daulatpura Toll Plaza on the Delhi–Jaipur stretch of NH-48. The new system uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) along with FASTag technology, allowing vehicles to pass without stopping at toll booths.
This barrier-free tolling system is designed to reduce waiting time, cut fuel wastage, and improve traffic flow by removing physical barriers at toll plazas. Instead of stopping for payment, toll charges are automatically deducted, making highway movement faster and smoother.
NHAI has confirmed that similar tolling systems may also be introduced at Shahjahanpur and Manoharpur toll plazas, showing a broader plan to improve road efficiency across Rajasthan.

Traditional toll plazas often create long vehicle queues, especially during peak hours and freight movement. With free flow tolling, traffic can move continuously without major interruptions.

Faster toll movement before Jaipur can reduce entry congestion, support smoother freight transport, and improve travel efficiency toward Ajmer, Kishangarh, and nearby industrial zones.
