Jaipur-Ajmer Highway Set to Benefit from ₹1,268 Crore NH-48 Upgrade
Centre Approves Major Highway Expansion in Rajasthan
In a major infrastructure boost for Rajasthan, the Central Government has approved a ₹1,268 crore upgrade for the Jaipur-Kishangarh stretch of National Highway-48 (NH-48). Covering nearly 90 kilometres, the project will convert this busy corridor into a semi access-controlled six-lane highway with flyovers, underpasses, service roads, and better entry-exit points.
This stretch is one of the most important parts of the Jaipur-Ajmer highway route, as Kishangarh lies directly between Jaipur and Ajmer. Any improvement in this section will directly impact the overall Jaipur-Ajmer travel corridor.
How Will the Project Improve Jaipur-Ajmer Travel?
At present, heavy traffic and congestion on the Jaipur-Kishangarh route often slow down vehicles moving toward Ajmer. With the new upgrade, traffic flow is expected to become smoother and more organized.
Key improvements include:
- Faster vehicle movement with reduced bottlenecks
- Better separation of local and highway traffic
- Improved road safety through underpasses and flyovers
- Reduced travel time from Jaipur to Kishangarh by nearly 50%
Since this is the main connecting route, travellers heading from Jaipur to Ajmer will also benefit from better traffic flow and shorter journey times.
What It Means for Trade and Logistics
The Jaipur-Ajmer corridor is important for industrial transport, marble trade, warehousing, and commercial supply chains. Kishangarh is one of India’s largest marble hubs, and better roads will help goods move faster toward Jaipur, Delhi, and western India.
Lower transport delays and smoother freight movement can improve business efficiency and reduce costs.
Impact on Real Estate Along Jaipur-Ajmer Belt
Better highway connectivity often increases demand for nearby land and commercial spaces. Areas like Bhankrota, Mahapura, Bandar Sindri, and nearby industrial zones could see stronger interest from investors.
Improved infrastructure can also support logistics parks, warehouses, and commercial projects along the highway, making the Jaipur-Ajmer corridor more attractive for long-term growth.
A Big Step for Regional Growth
With this NH-48 expansion, Rajasthan is strengthening one of its busiest road networks. The project is expected to improve connectivity, support trade, and create new opportunities for development across the Jaipur-Ajmer region.
